Fun Weekend

Weekend fun! Hello and what a week end. Roman and I just got new neighbors and what fun that is. Our old ones moved and we got new ones. They have four dogs and decided that the dog kennels will go on the side of their trailer right on the side where we put are to dogs so Roman told them that our dogs bark loud when they see a new pet in the neighborhood so he just warned them about it. Wow I hope that it goes well so far so good. We are glad that we are having a good weekend. Church was a blast with just three girls in class we had fun learning about temples and about how we can all go there someday. Roman came to class and was telling about how he got to go to the MN Temple and how he was at the Dedication and what a great time he had. We are grateful for that. :)

Roman and I are also getting new neighbors next door to us the neighbors we had moved out this week and the new ones will move in next week. so this is exciting for we will meet someone new. Sunday fun and learning!

We all have moments with our callings that make us step back and ask ourselves, "Lord why Me and why now I know I an suppose to learn from this but what?" I have a child in my class that thinks she is still two and will act out and do things that she shouldn't. It was a test to me that know child is perfect and that we have to remember that we can learn from it. time outs work when you get the parents involved. I am glad that I work with the primary kids and am glad to have such great families that help out in times like these. We are given callings for a reason and am in dead grateful. We are well and are staying busy at home. Keep Smiling :)

Monday, August 24, 2009

We are doing great., We got 3 trees down in our yard Friday And it was great to have them down. I was on fire duty and was burning all of the branches we could not save. It was different to see all the open space but we like it knowing that the trees will not come down on our home. We are doing a great cause with the wood that we are able to save and that is our friend Shayne has a cousin who burns wood as his main heat source and we gave all the wood to him because we found out that he has cancer and doing the treatments for that takes a lot out of you so we are grateful we could help.
Hope we can get it all done this week. Well hugs to all

Hot

Well last week was a fun seek as we finally got our 90 degree weather and it was great. Even Roman thought it was nice. We took and went swimming Wed. and that was fun. Warroad has a local outdoor beach and swimming era for the public to enjoy and we only have to pay three dollars and we can swim all day. that was so much fun. On Sat. we went to a free dinner for our Community put on a free dinner to thank the people for shopping in Warroad and we went and had fun. We also have been getting ready for the trees to come down in our yard. our neighbor is going to do that for us and that is good. We are taking at least five down and their may be more. That all depends on how we think the rest are after the first five are taken. their are some really tall trees that we do not want coming down on our home again. what a week we have planned. Well hope that we are able to get all we want done. the last three days it has rained and that's a lot for us and we hope it will stop so we can get our work done. We will see until next time chat soon Smile often. :)

Tough Times

What a life we lead when you think that you have been out to dry you find that everything is upside down and sideways. I feel sorry for all who have lost there jobs and who have to get by on unemployment and and some don't even get that chance to get that and have to rely on family and friends. I am feeling the crunch of all that is going on as well as some of you who have lost your jobs and have to start over. We all have to start over at the bottom even when we have the skills to be out at top. Please bear in mind that this is a challenge and will take time to get through it. I am in dead grateful that we have people out there who have been where we are at and that we are not alone and that our Heavenly Father is also there for us in our time of need. we also have the Gospel of Jesus Christ to guide us in our path and that with much prayer and fasting we can find a job and make life a little bit better for our family. I wish all luck and will I pray for all in there time of need. Take it easy and SMILE OFTEN:)

Health

Well as life takes us in new directions we are grateful for the Doc.'s that have been able to help us out on all levels of health care. Saturday May 2ND we had the opportunity to go to a diabetic health fair and learn more about the illness. We even had a breakfast that was provided by the clinic. I am grateful that we have a great Diabetic Center here in Roseau Mn and that we can get such great care. Roman had to get a shot in his left shoulder and is now recovering from the pain. I do hope that it gets better. We send our love out to all the mothers in our family with Mother's Day coming up and hope that it is a great one for all. SMILE IS COULD BE WORSE! :)

WINTER AGAIN!!!!

Winter weather has set in again and today we are getting some snow. :( I have to say that peeling logs this last week was a blast and we are a head of schedule by a lot and that is good but our boss said if we want to have logs to last until the 15 of May then we have to slow down and take it a little slower and that is what we did. We took Saturday Thur Today off of work. today it is cold and snowing so we do not work in that weather. This last Saturday the 18Th of April we had a Garden Party at the Branch building and it was so much fun. Roman and I helped with the Children's activities and enjoyed doing that. They got to plant a seed and we ate bugs on logs ( celery, raisins, and peanut butter) that was fun for all. I came all dressed and prepared for the event with a sunflower sweatshirt and sunflower pants. The pants I made with left over material I had from years ago from a quilt project. the Sisters in charge just loved the attire. In about three weeks I will get to plant my sun flowers and I can't wait. We are well and staying busy so we will chat soon. stay happy and well.!

Monday, April 13, 2009

I hope that everyone had a great Easter as we did up North. We had the Elders over for dinner as well as a friend of ours from the Branch. The Birthday of Kerri was the best as she got 6 phone call and even called Jill, Abby, Parker, and Mia to chat for Easter. It was so much fun to hear Abby, Jill and even Parker sing me Happy Birthday. What a joy even Mia got in with a little crying to let everyone know that she was there. well we have to go and peel logs now so have a smiley kind of day and keep up the Blogs.

Bye Bye Van :(

Hello! For many days now we have been back to work peeling logs and again today isn't any different. We are grateful for that and I am glad to be working again. Roman has been good and if any of you have seen the new movie Twilight It is great in his eyes. He has seen it four times since he bought it Friday the 3rd. Well as for another happening we got rid of our grey Plymouth Grand Voyager do to a bad Transmission. the Transmission was stuck in 2nd gear and it would of cost us over $800.00 to fix so we sold it to a junk yard that we have gone through for parts that we have used when we had the van. I was sad so see it go but what do you do when you can't afford a part. well so that is our excitement for now. Smile :) lots and happy Easter to you all.

SPRING IS STILL TO COME AND HOW!

Hello and greetings from Northern MN. What a frozen melt down we are having today with 37 degrees as our temp. We are taking it easy today as we can't peel logs yet due to the snow and all the slush. what a tragic mud whole we have down at the shop and believe you me you don't want to park down there because of the mud and muck. We got a few letters written and sent them off and are looking forward to more warmer weather so we can go peel logs and get down to really making some money. I am glad though that I didn't live in the southern part of the state. They got hit with 17 inches of snow. :( What a down fall for those fokes . We are also getting ready for my 34Th Birthday on April 10, and Easter coming up. Romans sister Missie and Bother-N-Law Lyle have Birthdays also in April So we are going to have a Birthday Dinner for all of us. That is always fun for everyone. Roman is doing well and says hello to everyone :). Stay happy and smile often.

Hello everyone! The northern snow is finally melting on the ground. We are so happy to see 45 degree weather and can't wait to get back to work. We have been good this last week but found out Roman has high cholesterol and has to go on a diet for that. Bummer:( ! The branch is having a gardening party in three weeks and I am getting to help out with the primary kids and that is going to be so much fun. I bought seeds to plant sunflowers again this year and I am so excited to be able to plant them this year. I hope all is well your way and stay well and happy.

Hello Everyone! We are Proud that at 12:07 AM Monday morning Mia Peterson was born and I got to hear here cry at 2:00 AM March 2nd. when proud Grandma Peterson (Suzee) was calling me from the hospital. I am indeed grateful for family and was glad that she was born with know problems. what a joy to have here in our lives. I am well and the weather up here isn't as bad today. we have 17 degrees above 0. so that is good. Roman over the weekend was busy fixing a chair that the fokes gave us. If any of you remember the couch and chair that was once in the Peterson house in Ill. that is the chair he was fixing the legs were broken and it wasn't rocking right so he was up to his arms in drilling out the legs and putting new bolts in to hold it better. he has one bolt left to get and that is the center one. That one requires a larger bolt then the rest.. well we will sign off and happy smiles :) to all.

Hello Again from northern Frozen MN. It is amazing that the weather is still chilly as it was a month ago.
Well I was able to chat with Jill Thursday Feb 20 and it looks like that little niece Mia isn't going to wait for Grandma "Suzee" Peterson to arrive, but that is OK. I chatted with Abby and I tell you what that little girl is so smart. She sang Happy Birthday to me even though it isn't quite my Birthday and told me all about Preschool and what she has been up to like painting her fingers and toes blue and pink. I so am amazed at how she is growing and it is a joy to have her in our family what a kid. I am glad that we have this wonderful family of ours. Although big it is sill a joy. If you say you can't learn from a child and they aren't smart they are wrong. I am doing well in primary and yesterday we played Choose The Right Bingo and that was a blast. We used smarty candies as our game pieced it was so much fun we learned about Prophets and what the Lord has told them to teach us. In our lesion we learned many ways the Prophet has taught us and in our Bingo was many things we are suppose to do and that was so much fun to put together. Well chat soon. Love to all!

Hell Form MN. The frozen north has again taken a tole on the Lutgen's this last week. We had a frighting Sat. night with high winds and warm weather. Sat. night about 5:30 pm we were in at home and had a friend over to watch movies and work on craft projects when we looked outside and noticed that the wind was picking up so we decided to bring in our two dogs. I had to use the bathroom and as I was in the bathroom I heard a loud crack. It was one of the trees in our yard breaking and hitting our trailer witch did damage to our kitchen roof and inside were our table was. Roman and our friend Shayne went out to see what had happened and how big the tree was and then just as we thought it was safe we heard another big crack and it was another tree hitting our trailer this time it hit the master bedroom and part of the tree came inside. Roman called law enforcement. I called Dad in Ill. and told him what happened. as I was chatting with him the power in the whole trailer park went out. shortly after that an officer came took a statement and took pictures of the damage. As they were there we noticed we couldn't get in to the master bedroom so Roman prided the door open we finally got in and things were OK. I tell you that was a fright. Then we called the 1st councilor in the Branch and told him about it and asked what we were going to do about it and the only thing we could think of. Shayne in the meantime went over to the neighbors house and asked him if we could help us get the trees of the trailer. He had a chainsaw and a ladder. He came over and Shayne went up the ladder and looked ant the damage which was quite bad. but in the dark and with the wind still blowing out we decided that there could be nothing we could do in the dark so we patched up the areas we could with left over plastic we had from another project and put buckets under the plastic punched a small hole in the middle so the water could drain out and waite. We all just said a lot of prayers that there would be no other trees falling in the trailer park.
Sunday came and we went to church and let people know about the problem and after church the neighbor and five members of the branch came over to help as well as Roman, Shayne and I. We borrowed some heavy tarps used by Shayne's dad who is a trucker and placed them were the holes were as of this morning there is no water dripping from the holes and we are safe. We owe all of the help we have received from people from our Heavenly Father and know that this is a test of our faith. Surprising enough I am not as upset as I could be so I owe that all to him to for keeping us calm throughout all of this. We will let you know more as we know more until then take care.

Hello Everyone! The world in the frozen north is cold again this week. Last week we had a bit of warm weather bur this week.. So we are doing well. I have found a new craft I can do with my sewing machine and a week ago I was asked by a gal in our Branch if I could make her a few items for her new baby coming in march so I took the fabric she had given me and made a receivingspecial little girl will be getting a few as well. We are excited that she will be arriving soon. blanket two bibs and a burp cloth. I wanted to see if I could make the other items. I can sew blankets and quilts pretty good but wanted to learn a new craft so I set out to make some. I didn't have a pattern so I went to our dollar store and bought a bib and burp cloth to use as my pattern. I made them all out of felt fabric and was so excited that they turned out so cute that I went to the craft/fabric store and bought more felt to make more. So guess what not only am I doing craft sale in the late summer and fall to sell some I have decided that a very
