Hell Form MN. The frozen north has again taken a tole on the Lutgen's this last week. We had a frighting Sat. night with high winds and warm weather. Sat. night about 5:30 pm we were in at home and had a friend over to watch movies and work on craft projects when we looked outside and noticed that the wind was picking up so we decided to bring in our two dogs. I had to use the bathroom and as I was in the bathroom I heard a loud crack. It was one of the trees in our yard breaking and hitting our trailer witch did damage to our kitchen roof and inside were our table was. Roman and our friend Shayne went out to see what had happened and how big the tree was and then just as we thought it was safe we heard another big crack and it was another tree hitting our trailer this time it hit the master bedroom and part of the tree came inside. Roman called law enforcement. I called Dad in Ill. and told him what happened. as I was chatting with him the power in the whole trailer park went out. shortly after that an officer came took a statement and took pictures of the damage. As they were there we noticed we couldn't get in to the master bedroom so Roman prided the door open we finally got in and things were OK. I tell you that was a fright. Then we called the 1st councilor in the Branch and told him about it and asked what we were going to do about it and the only thing we could think of. Shayne in the meantime went over to the neighbors house and asked him if we could help us get the trees of the trailer. He had a chainsaw and a ladder. He came over and Shayne went up the ladder and looked ant the damage which was quite bad. but in the dark and with the wind still blowing out we decided that there could be nothing we could do in the dark so we patched up the areas we could with left over plastic we had from another project and put buckets under the plastic punched a small hole in the middle so the water could drain out and waite. We all just said a lot of prayers that there would be no other trees falling in the trailer park.
Sunday came and we went to church and let people know about the problem and after church the neighbor and five members of the branch came over to help as well as Roman, Shayne and I. We borrowed some heavy tarps used by Shayne's dad who is a trucker and placed them were the holes were as of this morning there is no water dripping from the holes and we are safe. We owe all of the help we have received from people from our Heavenly Father and know that this is a test of our faith. Surprising enough I am not as upset as I could be so I owe that all to him to for keeping us calm throughout all of this. We will let you know more as we know more until then take care.
